Street Construction

October 12, 2026

This project is on the home stretch to completion. Last week the final layer of blacktop was placed on Monday. The rest of the week was followed by more restoration and preparation for landscaping. The traffic marking at several intersections was completed, and any traffic signs that had been taken down for construction were reinstalled. 

This week the landscaping contractor is taking over, and the tentative plan is to complete all dirt work this week. They should be laying sod next week.

October 2, 2026

We were informed that the paving process for 11th Ave will begin tomorrow (Saturday, 10/3). The crews will be working on Saturday until early afternoon, and then back on Monday, 10/5, to lay the surface coat. They will be working a block at a time to help minimize disruption for residents. The road will be open for driving immediately after placement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Due to the unfavorable weather this week, this window of time was all that was available with the paving company. 

Restoration work will continue once pavement work is finished. 

September 30, 2026 - update to September 25, 2026

The initial paving schedule is being affected by the weather. The contractor will continue working on grading work to prepare for the asphalt placement. "Payne and Dolan" has delayed the paving date until Monday, October 5th. This date could also still be affected by weather. We will get another update out Friday this week when we have a better idea of the upcoming weather. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

September 25, 2026

11th Avenue will be taking another big step towards being finished next week. The schedule for next week is to continue finish grading for pavement Monday and Tuesday, with a tentative paving date of Wednesday, September 30th, and paving could continue through the end of the week. PLEASE NOTE: this work is weather-dependent and is subject to change if the paving contractor is delayed on jobs earlier in the week. Another big milestone is that everyone's driveway should be open by the end of the day today!

September 11, 2026

Curb and gutter work were completed this week. Next week's scope of work will include continuing sidewalk pouring and then concrete driveway aprons. A good portion of the concrete work should be done, getting people closer to returning to normal use of driveways. We understand this is a big inconvenience for everyone and look forward to getting everything restored. A tentative paving date of October 1st is scheduled. September 4, 2026

The concrete contractor started pouring sidewalk, curb and gutter late this week between Railroad and 1st Street.  Next week there will be no work on Monday, but the plan is to finish curb and gutter on the project on Tuesday, so things will move along pretty quickly. Once the curb is done, they will continue working on sidewalk and driveway approaches starting from Railroad Street and working towards 5th Street. 1901 should be reaching out to residents as things progress. August 31, 2026

1901 has finished with underground work and will now focus on grading and concrete work. The concrete contractor is scheduled to be on site Thursday to start getting string set and to pour curb. They are scheduled to start pouring some sidewalk between Railroad and 2nd Street. Work will start at Railroad and move towards 1st, then 2nd and continue towards Candy Cane. This will be a busy time, but it means everything is getting that much closer to being finished. There will be times when driveway access will be limited when concrete is being poured and curing. August 14, 2026

Water and sewer work have been completed, and work has started on the storm sewer between Railroad and 1st Streets. Next week, they will continue with storm sewer work toward 2nd and 3rd Streets. They will also be starting with curb, gutter, and sidewalk removal. They may also start some grading work at Railroad Street.

August 7, 2026

1901 will be finishing with watermain work with a scheduled shutdown on Monday at the 5th Street and Valley Lane intersection. Once this is complete, they will continue with storm sewer work starting between Railroad and 1st Street heading toward 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Streets. The goal is to be pouring curb and gutter back in early September.

July 17, 2026

1901 will be working between 2nd Street and 5th Street next week. They should finish the water and sewer main line work but will still have service and lateral work in the next couple of weeks. They will also be working on storm sewer work from Railroad to 1st Street. WE Energies started gas main and service work last week and will likely continue for the next couple of weeks.

July 10, 2026

Next week, 1901 will be working on sanitary and water work between 4th and 5th Streets. They will continue working on storm sewer south of the Railroad intersection and could potentially move into 11th Avenue towards 1st Street. Things have gotten pretty congested this week with storm sewer piping from Railroad to 2nd Street but should get better as they continue the project.

July 2, 2026

1901 will be conducting water and sanitary sewer work from 3rd Street to 5th Street.  There is a possibility they will begin storm sewer work at the Railroad Street intersection and to the south in the utility easement.  

June 26, 2026

Next week 1901 will be doing sanitary and water work between 2nd Street and 4th Street.

June 19, 2026

The week of June 22 - 26, 1901 will be working between 1st Street and 4th Street on water and sanitary mains as well as the water and sewer laterals and services.  A reminder to residents that when they are being hooked up to the new water main, there will be a 1 - 2 hour window where the property will not have water.  A representative from the 1901 contractor will try to contact property owners/residents prior to doing this work.  The representative will most likely knock on the door when trying to make contact.  

June 12, 2026

Next week they will be doing water and sewer from 1st Street to 3rd Street.

June 5, 2026

1901 will be doing watermain and service work next week from Railroad Street up to 3rd Street. They will also be working on sanitary lateral work from Railroad to 2nd Street.

May 29, 2026

Next week, 1901 will be working on watermain from Railroad to 1st Street, and possibly up to 3rd Street. They may also be doing sanitary work in this area.

May 27, 2026

1901 will be working on sanitary sewer work Friday between 2nd and 3rd Streets. Next week they should be back to working between Railroad and 2nd Streets on watermain.

May 22, 2026

1901 will be finishing watermain work at Railroad Street and 11th Ave the first part of next week.  After they have done that, they will finish with the sewer laterals between Railroad and 2nd Street.  

May 15, 2026

1901 will be working on tying in sewer laterals between Railroad St and 2nd St. They will be going back to Railroad St early in the week to do watermain work at that intersection. People in this area should be notified at least 24 hours in advance of any water service interruptions. There is a possibility of watermain work from the intersection of Railroad St to 2nd St. 

Just a reminder that residents should continue to put out garbage and mail as usual. 1901 will move things accordingly so garbage can be picked up and mail can be delivered.

May 8, 2026

Contractor update from the site foreman:

* Tree contractor should be onsite next week.

* They are working on the sewer main between Railroad St and 1st Street. They should reach 1st Street midweek and will continue on sewer the remainder of the week between 1st Street and 2nd Street.
